Welcome! You've found a special spot on the internet that's a little different. No algorithms deciding what you see. No ads. No clout-chasing. Just real people having real conversations about food, growing, and building a better world — one meal, one garden bed, one idea at a time.
Before you dive in, please read our rules. They exist for one reason: to keep this a place where everyone feels safe to ask, share, and dream.
🌱 THE GOLDEN RULE: TREAT EVERYONE WITH RESPECT
This is non-negotiable. Every person here — lifelong vegan, vegan-curious, master gardener, or someone who just killed their third basil plant — deserves to be treated with warmth and dignity.
1. No put-downs. Ever. No mockery, name-calling, sarcasm at someone's expense, or "well, actually" one-upmanship. If your reply would make someone feel small, don't post it.
2. Debate ideas, never people. Disagreeing is healthy — we grow through it. Challenge the claim, share your evidence, and stay kind. "I've read something different — here's a link" beats "you're wrong" every time.
3. No gatekeeping. Nobody has to prove they're "vegan enough" or "green enough" to belong here. Someone eating one plant-based meal a week is moving in the right direction. Meet people where they are.
4. Assume good intentions. Text loses tone. Before reacting to something that reads badly, consider the kindest plausible interpretation — and if in doubt, ask.
5. Share generously, cite honestly. Links to articles, studies, videos, and recipes are welcome and encouraged — just paste the URL and it becomes clickable. When you make a factual claim, back it up when you can.
6. Keep it constructive. Venting about the state of the world is human, but aim to land on "so here's what we can do." Solarpunk is about building the future, not just mourning the present.
7. No spam or drive-by self-promotion. Sharing your own project or blog is fine when it's relevant and you're an active part of the community. Posting links and vanishing is not.
🛡 MODERATION
Moderators may edit or remove posts that break these rules, and repeat or malicious offenders will lose posting privileges. If you see something that crosses the line, don't pile on — use the thread to flag it politely or contact a moderator, and we'll handle it.
